Greetings Governor’s Grove Residents,

On behalf of the Governor’s Grove Board of Directors, thank you for choosing Governor’s Grove as your home.  The Board is committed to keeping you informed through our Web site and email newsletters.

I also want to thank Mary Hawkins and Scott Lawson for continuing to serve on the Board.

Sheilah Harrison will continue serve as Chair of the Newsletter and Directory Committee.  Please make sure you provide you email address to Sheilah and keep her updated on changes to your listing in the Directory.  Your email will not be listed in the directory at your request, but we need the information to keep you updated.  If you need a copy of the Directory, please email Sheilah at sheilah227@aol.com

Thanks to Sandye Blalock for her outstanding service as Landscaping and Architectural Committee Chair (LARC).  Her position on the Architectural Committee has now been taken over by Sharon Voss-Northrop. The box Sandye placed on the outside of her gate (5628 GPC) remains for residents to use to submit their exterior modification application for review / approval.  The intent is to have a better tracking system that will result in a faster response regarding the application and approval.  Please remember, before starting any exterior projects, you must first submit and obtain approval from the board.  If you need an application please download it from the Web site or contact Sharon at geoengchic2@yahoo.com or call (703) 310-4671.

We also welcome Harvey Johnson's efforts to head up the Grounds Committee. Through his efforts, the Board can undertake a long-term plan to maintain and improve the greenery in the common areas. This will be accomplished through prudent care and replacement of plants, trees and grasses, coupled with a planned extension of irrigation lines. We got to a great start last year in Phase I with improvements to the West Entrance, and will continue with a major initiative this year along the pond and bike path.

Parking is limited in the community, especially on the west side.  Residents are expected to use their garages and driveways as primary parking spaces for their vehicles.  This will free up the limited spaces for guests and visitors.  In addition, there are pets and children in the community, so please drive safely.  Help your neighbors by honoring the Visitor Parking signs and 15 MPH speed limit.
